AMY Leigh Barnes - JUSTICE FINALLY

Her murdering monster is jailed for life

The moster that abused and murderd  Model Amy Leigh Barnes , was jailed to day for LIFE to serve 24 years minimum.

Amy Leigh a subject of consistent domestic violence and abuse by Ricardo Morrison, was killed by the coward  who  used a six-inch kitchen knife to attack the 19-year-old, leaving her dying in a pool of blood at the house they shared near Bolton, Lancashire.

The 22-year-old will serve a minimum of 24 years following his conviction after an 11-day trial at Manchester Crown Court.

Mr Justice MacDuff described Morrison as "dangerous beyond words" during sentencing.

"You are an evil man with nothing to commend you. You are the worst type of bully, a bully who will hit and injure anyone who gets in his way."

He added: "This victim was trapped and defenceless and your attack on her was brutal and violent almost beyond imagination."

Mother's reaction to sentencing

Following the GUILTY verdict his violent history of attacking his partners and other young women was revealed for the first time.

Responding to the sentencing, Amy Leigh's mother Karyn Killiner said it was a "comfort" knowing Morrison now "cannot hurt another woman or anybody else the way he hurt Amy".

But she added that "no punishment would ever be enough" for the family.

"I want the world to know what he is like. He was a conman and he integrated himself into our family.

"He would say the most disgusting things to her and would send abusive text messages and tried to stop her from seeing me, he is an absolute monster and no language can describe him."

Moments after the attack Amy made a harrowing 999 call.

She told the operator: "I have been stabbed. I can't breathe. I have been stabbed."

Her father Andrew Barnes arrived at the home in Farnworth not long after.

Amy was a bright and popular girl at the beauty pageants she entered and apart from modelling also appeared in Hollyoaks

We all hope that this encourages anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse to speak out and certianly to find refuge and move on, away from such a relationship and abusive partner.

Amy had been studying fashion and drama and had modelled for Cosmopolitan and Nuts magazines and also appeared in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

Her family is now working to set up a foundation in her memory.

It will help other young people who share Amy's passion for performance and theatre.

If you are a vicitm of domestic violence - speak out DO tell your friends and family, they will believe you and there are Laws in place to help you as well as refuges that can help you to move on.

Rest in peace Amy Leigh Barnes.
